Re: 2010 NFL Predictions

How painful for you was it to pick the Packers to beat Gang Green and win the Super Bowl (given your recent statement that your two fave teams are the Jets and whoever plays Green Bay)?

I think the Packers will be good, but I think Baltimore looks REAL good. Will try to get full predictions up later.

No, no, no...I'm a racist, no-nothing, worse-than-a-Yankee-lover, Redskins fan...and I'll go crazy if they win even one game this year.

But I do hate the Packers' fans the way that bmfc1 hates the fans of my team...so if my prediction comes true, I will be hating life in February.

I agree...and it will just as close to accurate as anyone else's guesses at the end of the year.

Are the Jets really that good or are you all looking through green-tinted glasses?

Re: 2010 NFL Predictions

Given the strong finish/playoff run last year, the upgrades to an already-dominant defense (a healthy Kris Jenkins, a maybe-has-enough-gas-left Jason Taylor, and adding two very good-looking cornerbacks to a defensive backfield that already featured the league's best defensive player in Darrelle Revis), and some new offensive toys (WR Santonio Holmes-- once back from suspension-- leading a WR corps that's 4-5 deep, a maybe-has-enough-gas-left LaDainian Tomlinson, a punishing rookie fullback), there are justified high hopes. ("Hard Knocks" and Revis' holdout didn't exactly diminish the roar of hype/pub around them, either.)

Only problem is, the one question mark is at the most important position. They'll go about as far as Bambi Sanchez's development will let them. If he's half-decent this year, and the team stays healthy, they do have a realistic SB shot. As this is only his third full season playing any sort of starting QB role above high school, though... that's a big "if."

Ding, ding. He's good enough if everything else goes right...but he hasn't proven he will pick up the slack if other areas are struggling.

3-1 at the quarter pole, 3-0 in the conference, so right on target so far.

Re: 2010 NFL Predictions

Hey! The Jets have a thread of their own. Unless you're here to brag that through 4 games you've successfully predicted 7 of the 12 playoff teams like me, go root for that team there. ;)

Lots of football to be played, and it's anyone's SB to win as there are no teams that look like they are going to dominate from wire to wire.

Although, those 3 division wins do look nice for Gang Green.

OE: ;) added to indicate the taking of piss.
