FTP and you

Anyone use a good free FTP program they want to recommend?

I had a paid-for one on my old laptop (that I likely expensed) but need
a replacement. I had Ipswitch WS Pro (which I absolutely loved) but it
has bitten the dust and the install program I found wants me to pay again.

Google brings up too many choices to weed through if one of you who
FTP a lot have one you like.

I use CuteFTP. It's not free, but it's not expensive either. I think I paid $30 for it. I've been using it for over ten years, and upgraded it once. (I'm currently using version 8.)

I have tons of techie software but nothing for FTP. I'm sharing folders across my network using samba instead, much easier.

"Samba is an important component to seamlessly integrate Linux/Unix Servers
and Desktops into Active Directory environments using the winbind daemon."

Yeah, but I want my FTP *insert Jumpin' Jack Flash Dire Straits' intro to Money
for Nothing here*

I just use the FTP on the computer they gave me at work.

I have Fetch on my Mac at home but rarely have occasion to use it.

Agreed.

I like textpad as my simple text editor too. does regex, search and replace, parens and all that fun stuff.
