LinkedIn

I'm sure that many of us have profiles on LinkedIn. Lately I've been getting spam e-mails "spoofing" a LinkedIn sender. They're trying to trick you into clicking links within the e-mail. I've hovered over the links to verify that they don't take you to a LinkedIn site. I have no idea what would happen if I clicked on it, but I just wanted to warn everyone.

Re: LinkedIn

It's kind of like Facebook, but without the fun. It's a way to network for career/business purposes.

Do people regularly use it for such? I ignore most of my linkedin emails as spam anyway. I've got a whole network of random connections that don't do me much good.

Re: LinkedIn

I've known two people who have found jobs thanks to LinkedIn. (One of the two wasn't even looking.)

So I do know that it sometimes works. I don't really know, overall, how effective or efficient it is.
