Re: Lego Star Wars

I saw a piece on some news show recently that profiled a convention of (adult) LEGO enthusiasts and their over-the-top collections and geeky creations.
Keeps them off the streets I guess.

I was in the Lego store in Rockefeller center yesterday. It was pretty amazing - I'm sure it's crack cocaine for some of these enthusiasts!

Little Solo and I have our eyes on Lego Star Wars for Wii. We've already enjoyed Lego Batman and Indiana Jones for Wii. I think SW has to be next.

We're sitting around right now watching "Attack of the Clones" with MiniWolf. He LOVES Star Wars; he's becoming a little comic book nerd.

One of my favorite moments as a parent was when Darth Vader told Luke he was his father; MiniWolf was horrified.

How about Peanut? How did he take it?

I miss Peanut. You never talk about Peanut any more.

Did you watch the movies in story order (Episodes 1-6), or in the original order of release? I've been going back and forth with BetterHalfer on how to break in our littl'un.

Re: Lego Star Wars

Now that my son is 15, we have three enormous plastic bins of Legos that he doesn't want to play with, but doesn't want to throw out.

Maybe I could build a shed out of them for the backyard.

watch episodes 4 (star wars) and 5 (empire) with him, then tell him that George Lucas had a stroke and never made any more movies.

which is more or less true.

We went in order of release; better to get those little moments like the one at the end of "Empire" that were so earth-shattering at the time. We'll probably hold off a bit on III, as it's the only one in the series that's not PG.

I forgot how awful Hayden Christensen is, though, especially in scenes with Natalie Portman, who's so good.
