Benjamin Grimm Nov 02 2010 08:08 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
How many years in a row of free agency is this for Orlando Hudson?
metsmarathon Nov 02 2010 08:26 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
anybody else have interest in brandon webb? i do. incentive laden with a low floor, but definitely interest.
LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Nov 02 2010 09:27 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
I'd be curious about Webb... but he does have a 2009 Sheets-y whiff to him.
HahnSolo Nov 02 2010 10:19 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
For bullpen depth, will the Wookie's demands be a little too rich?
Vic Sage Nov 02 2010 11:25 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
Lets go forward into the Past!

Vic Sage Nov 02 2010 11:33 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
how about:
Willets Point Nov 02 2010 11:34 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
I used to make a team of Free Agent Ex-Mets (The Faems) every year. Thanks Vic for saving me the effort. Not that I would've done it this year.
Edgy DC Nov 02 2010 11:40 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
OK, why don't I remember a thing about Yorvit Torrealba on the Mets? Did they sign him to a minor league deal that never panned out?
Gwreck Nov 02 2010 11:40 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
Torrealba was actually never a Met.
Benjamin Grimm Nov 02 2010 11:48 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
He was an almost Met a couple of years ago. The Mets and Torrealba agreed on a contract, but then the Mets backed out.
Vic Sage Nov 02 2010 11:54 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
yeah, he signed a contract, then it was nullified. I think that technically made him a met for about an hour.
Edgy DC Nov 02 2010 11:55 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
At least you didn't retro-actively award the 1985 Cardinals a championship.
batmagadanleadoff Nov 02 2010 11:58 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
I used to conflate Torrealba and Rod Barajas. But not anymore.

Thanks, Adam.

- Reds pick up options on P Bronson Arroyo and OF Johnny Gomes
Fman99 Nov 03 2010 04:59 PM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
Rangers decline mutual option on Vlad Guerrero.
Ashie62 Nov 03 2010 09:41 PM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
Carl Crawford, but that won't happen.
smg58 Nov 04 2010 08:28 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
I'm perfectly willing to go year-to-year with Feliciano. I don't seem him getting a huge raise in arbitration, and he's capable of improving on this past season. On the other hand, if somebody else offers him multiple years I'm OK with taking the draft pick and looking elsewhere.
Edgy DC Nov 04 2010 08:33 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
My question is how badly damaged might he be from that crazy workload.
Vic Sage Nov 04 2010 08:38 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
you don't give long-term Ks to LOOGYs who hold records for most appearances.
TheOldMole Nov 04 2010 03:37 PM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
The one who surprised me for being still at it was Bruce Chen.
Frayed Knot Nov 04 2010 03:44 PM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
Sawx pick up $12.5 option on Papi -- I wasn't so sure they were going to do that for a while.
Frayed Knot Nov 05 2010 04:43 PM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
Edgar Renteria - option NOT picked up by Giants.
Valadius Nov 07 2010 05:02 PM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
Prince Fielder looking for a $200 million contract extension.
Frayed Knot Nov 07 2010 05:10 PM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
Yeah so am I, and I have only a slightly lower chance of getting one than Prince.
Frayed Knot Nov 09 2010 08:36 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
Type 'A' and Type 'B' Free Agents
Ceetar Nov 09 2010 08:38 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
Geeze. There are no type a or b 2Bman there. Castillo may very well be the best option.
Edgy DC Nov 09 2010 08:40 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
I think the Metsos are leaning toward Murphy.
Ceetar Nov 09 2010 08:44 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
Quite possibly. If I had to choose right now I think I go Castillo with Murphy as the bench guy/2x a week replacement ready to slide in if Castillo isn't getting on base at a .360+ rate or something.
Benjamin Grimm Nov 09 2010 08:56 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
Well, no Type A's, anyway. There are two of Type B. (I don't see any Type O at all on the entire list, however.)
Ceetar Nov 09 2010 09:02 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
My brain didn't comprehend those two as options.
metirish Nov 09 2010 09:05 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
Murph had three more hits yesterday, all opposite field
Frayed Knot Nov 09 2010 10:33 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
Hitting as a 2nd baseman isn't going to be Murphy's problem.
Ashie62 Nov 09 2010 12:13 PM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
Don't see external help at 2B..All hail Muffy..
Frayed Knot Nov 10 2010 07:50 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
Minor League Free Agents -- all 533 of them, including 24 from the NYM system
smg58 Nov 10 2010 09:03 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
I wouldn't mind seeing Chase Lambin back in the organization. The same goes for Willie Collazo; I'm not sure why he's been getting starts, but he could be a decent lefty in the back of the pen.
MFS62 Nov 10 2010 09:37 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
John Buck is a 30 year old, right handed hitting, All Star catcher.
A Boy Named Seo Nov 10 2010 10:24 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |

We should definitely sign Al Albuquerque from the Rockies for the obvious reason. I always had a crush on Josh Barfield for some reason, cause he's not very good. He'll be just 28 in Dec. I might try and nab him super cheap-o & invite him to ST, and get a Bisons jersey ready for him. My adopted kid, C-Los Muniz, is a free agent. End of the line??? :'-(

seawolf17 Nov 10 2010 10:39 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |

Get me Clay Zavada!
LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Nov 10 2010 10:47 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
John Buck is a slightly-younger Rod Barajas-- minus the fun and geniality-- after a good year.
I'll have what he's having.
A Boy Named Seo Nov 10 2010 11:05 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
Clay Zevada is the mastermind, tie-damsels-to-railroad-tracks criminal, and Al Albuquerque is his bumbling, right-hand man.
metirish Nov 10 2010 01:28 PM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
Cashman is in Arkansas today meeting with Lee......oh please outbid any other suitors by at least $60 million and two extra years.
Ashie62 Nov 10 2010 01:51 PM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |

And the bastard will take money out of Jeter's pocket to do it.

At whom are the Phillies looking? As per Phillies blog Crashburn Alley/Phillies figurative groin-massager Jayson Stark, a wholelottafolk.

Edgy DC Nov 12 2010 08:52 PM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
Jeff Francouer would love to play for the bones of Billy Martin. Hot-diggity-dog, he would!

Vic Sage Nov 17 2010 11:19 AM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
Listen up Sandy, here's my FA list (assuming Lee, Crawford and V-Mart are not gonna happen):

LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Nov 17 2010 12:18 PM Re: Behold, the 2010-11 Free Agents |
Benoit's a Tigger, Kuroda remains a Trolley-Ducker, Ramon Hernandez is a Commie, Buck's a Fishie, and both Dan Meyer and Jose Contreras (2 yrs!) are Philthy.
