Take the quiz here.

I got a 31 out of 32. I flubbed number 20, and it's one I really should have gotten.

I got 4 wrong:

10 commandments (!), bread & wine, Jewish holy week, Indonesian religion.

Not bad!

I did what Grimmy did-- miss #20-- and I feel just as doofy.

Re: Religious Knowledge Survey from the Pew Forum

I got a bunch of the first ten wrong and gave up...which is pretty much how religion goes for me.

Perfect score, although I had already taken about 10 of these when the NY Times reprinted them when reporting on the abysmal scores most Americans surveyed had obtained when asked the same questions.

I got 'em all, too. Now, if I would only believe.

Do you really want to? I suspect that most believers are glad that they do, and most non-believers are glad that they don't. (I know I am.)

Wasn't the gag that the nonbelievers scored higher on a test of religious knowledge (this one?) than those who considered themselves religious?

It wasn't a gag, that was the result. Overall, atheists and agnostics got higher scores. And yes, this is that quiz.

Average number of 32 questions answered correctly

Atheist/Agnostic: 20.9

Jewish: 20.5

Mormon: 20.3

White evangelical Protestant: 17.6

White Catholic: 16.0

White mainline Protestant: 16.0

Nothing in particular: 15.2

Black Protestant: 13.4

Hispanic Catholic: 11.6

Nah, I'm happy the way I am, it was really more sarcastic.

I went to a fairly progressive Catholic high school that offered elective courses in understanding other religions that juniors and seniors could take. It really gave me some knowledge on several different religions, even if I didn't end up practicing any of them.

I try to do the right thing when I can, and if there's a God, he knows it.

Not surprised. I hardly got any of them right, except the first several

Missed #8.

Got #12 by guessing the person with the most preacherlike name.

So true. Now if only the believers could accept the non-believers are fine the way they are and the non-believers accept the believers are fine the way they are too.

I'm pretty sure that is the equation for world peace.
