Michele in the Middle East

When I ran in Bermuda in January, I met Michele. She was enjoying the race weekend, her little respite from her family back in the States, and her time on the island. She also spoke a lot about her military service, and I'm pretty sure she could kill any one of us with her bare hands. One thing we discussed was that she was going to be deployed back to the Middle East within the year. That time has come. I asked her whether she would mind if I posted about her here, and she said that I could, but for obvious reasons I'm not going to post much identifying information about her. But let's send good vibes to Michele for a safe year as she serves our country so far from home!

Same. I'm sure she would have a very fashionable hijab, too-- something whipped up by a lesser-known young designer.

Michele was telling me about a young soldier with whom she's serving who is a big Mets fan. I told her to invite him to join us - we'll see whether he takes the plunge.
