You're stuck on a desert island. BOOO!!!

You get to take a Beatles song with you. YAY!!!!!

It has to be a Ringo vocal. ummm....

1) "Boys"
2) "I Wanna Be Your Man"
3) "Honey Don't"
4) "Act Naturally"
5) "What Goes On?"
6) "Yellow Submarine"
7) "With a Little Help from My Friends"
8) "Don't Pass Me By"
9) "Good Night"
10) "Octopus's Garden"

Anybody who fudges the question with an answer like "Actually, his voice is so high in the harmonic mix on 'Bungalo Bill,' 'Flying,' and 'Carry That Weight,' that he can be said to be singing lead, so..." will be declared to be pulling a Rogers and will be disqualified.

My favorite Beatle. "Don't Pass Me By."

I probably go with "Good Night" here, actually.

"Don't Pass Me By" is Ringo's best song. "Octopus' Garden" and "Yellow Submarine" are great in the sounds-like-a-children's song genre too.

Yellow Submarine, simply because I have always loved the movie.

Re: Castaway with the Fab Fourth

I went with "With a Little Help From My Friends." Considered "Don't Pass Me By" and "I Wanna Be Your Man."

Why no "Matchbox?" Much better than at least "What Goes On" (which has got to be near the bottom of the Beatle catalog).

I'm gonna think about it but I'll be surprised if it's not Boys.

Yeah, yeah!

I went with "Chicos" and I went fast. Paulie Cee picked Boys as one of the ten songs he'd eject from the catalog. That disappointed me. I like the way Ringo's vocals --- which typically landed right on the beat like a one mght expect out of a drummer --- totally swang and that track.

Re: Castaway with the Fab Fourth

I'm trying so hard not to get my SJR on here.

Once could go a couple different ways here. Are we going for the best song ("With a Little Help," "Don't Pass Me By," "Act Naturally") or the best Ringo vocal performance ("Boys," "Good Night"). Though "Good Night" is lovely, and has gotten a lot of wear since YoungerPooper plopped onto the scene, it tends to put me to sleep even I ain't trying.

"Boys?" "Don't Pass Me By?"

Gun to head, I'll go "Don't Pass Me By."

Desert Island Mix Tape is it's own standard. Which song makes the tape?

Re: Castaway with the Fab Fourth

No write-ins allowed for DIMTs, right? If there were, I'd go with It Don't Come Easy.

Give me With a Little Help From My Friends, then.

Re: Castaway with the Fab Fourth

Monk, I bet it has to be while he was still a Beatle. I just thought of that.

So I will go will "I wanna be your man". That is a cute song. Always loved that little "arf arf" at the end.

Re: Castaway with the Fab Fourth

Yeah, Monk, write-ins are allowed, but it's got to be a Beatle song.

Oh, I didn't even catch on to that.

I'll stick with Little Help From My Friends.

No love for the song that can be considered Ringo's "theme" Act Naturally?
