Pedro looking to play for his home country.

Elster88 does not like this. Omar should've put a clause in his contract saying no pitching for any team but the Mets.

What's with the Rickification of Elster?

I don't like this but I'm willing to see how things play out, Pedro is smart and I trust his judgment, plus I can't knock a guy for wanting to play for his country.

I think 88 is going to be in the third person for about 18 more posts.

I'm all for international competition with the world's best players participating so I can't disapprove of this.

So instead of a couple of spring training games he plays in the international competition. I'm sure that they'll be some guidelines from the clubs as to how many pitches pitchers can throw, etc. I got no problem with this.

I suppose the concern might be that he wants to pitch for the Licey Tigers in the Dominican winter league, but again I know nothing about that league , if he did pitch for the Tigers how many games would that be?...

Especially since he was all about wanting to go home and get some rest toward the end of the year. Elster88 guesses he meant he wanted to go home and pitch some more there. And then join his home country's team and pitch some more around the globe with them.

in fairness; he'd be in spring training one way or another at the time of the world classic. I'd love to be able to represent my country - and wouldn't want to stop anyone else - would you?
