The White Sox have picked "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey (1981) for their team song for the rest of the playoffs.

I'm stealing this from Bill Clinton..

SwitchHitter Oct 19 2005 12:29 PM |
Indeed, Yancy. Adopting theme songs is for teams that don't have their own.

Meet the Mets. But the original of course, not the later, more PC version.

This isn't the official team song. It is the song the players (led by AJ Pierzynski) blare in the clubhouse. The first of these I remember was when the Pirate players of the Willie Stargell era used to play "We Are Famileee" by Sister Sledge.

I suppose "who let the dogs out" was the Met players song back in 2000.

I liked the LA Woman Mets of 1999.

I like this game. I mean, of course it's Meet the Mets, but is there a particular song that encapsulates the Mets 2005 season? How about individual players?

It is pretty funny to imagine a bunch of grown men returning to the clubhouse all jacked up after a big win, turning up the speakers as loud as they can go, and acting all silly to the sounds of Meet the Mets.

just think what could have been hadLeiter not taken offense when Kazmir turned off the 1962 version in favor of the Meet the Mets (90’s version) – by the Alphabet City All-Stars

Thanks, Soup. Maybe if I play it for her, my PiazzaFan will like the Mets again.

I really loved the ecumenical version that Edgy came up with a couple of years ago. How did that go again?

Dear God, Edgy, that's awful.

I've always had a soft spot for Livin La Vida Loca. MK was a very late talker (although you'd never know that to talk with him now), and that was one of the first songs he would sing along with as a toddler.

WOW, that song was awful Edgy but quite funny, I'm wondering why I never heard it in 2000....

Elster88 is not nearly creative enough to participate in this contest. But he can't wait to read and vote.

I think it's quite clear why you never heard it.

My Mets theme song is "Feeling Stronger Every Day", and it has been since 1973, when that song was current and seemed to fit right in with their pennant drive. I never hear that song without thinking of that season -- my favorite.

In 1986 I acquired my first rap album, Raisin' Hell by RUN-DMC. The title track totally captures the swagger of that championship team and still makes me think of the Mets when I hear it.
