Based-on-facts hijinx abound as a big satellite dish and a small town in Australia play a crucial role in the Apollo 11 launch.

This came highly recommended from the Spitter. I thought it was sweet but not great. Probably too sweet.

The title could be for the blonde chick with the basket of food. Meow.

Re: The Dish

I thougth I arlready polled this baby.

Seemed like the sort of film that gets and extra star due to the national pride folks take to it. Sweet and decent, though.

Yeah, I'm sure I recommended it, but don't know about "highly". It's an okay flick, it's definitely NOT hysterically funny -- I feel the funniest scene is the "American national anthem scene" which was in the trailer (always a bad sign). However, cross-cultural humor always appealed to me.

The subject matter was difficult I was skeptical they could pull-off a feature length movie around. But the result is decent mainly thanks to the the "life lesson" angle. It has a cult following among my circle of friends -- we particularly get off at the following quote:

Prime Minister: You know, we've got a saying in the party. You don't fuck up...
Mayor Bob McIntyre: And?
Prime Minister: That's it.
