1. Who will manage?
2. Who will be replaced on the coaching staff? Everybody?

Regarding (7), Alderson has been flying around the country and fulfilling his other obligations as he manager-shops, leaving me curious if he's going to be operating regularly out of New York or not. And, knowing how controversy is made of almsot nothing, I wonder if an issue will be made of it.

I mean, don't you typically bring prospects in for an interview, walk them around the stadium, let them meet some other folks they'd be working with.

One managerial candidate will mistakenly think he's interviewing for the Padres job. He'll be a regular in Flushing. I suspect he'll be with the team on the road more than Omar was.

I like Duda..I just think Bay-Beltran-Pagan is the way to go and that Duda doesn't fit as a 4th guy. And if we're still pretending Evans is an outfielder, I think he's out of options.

1. Who will manage? Tim Teufel. I know he's a longshot, but my Spidey senses tell me he was the kind of player that Sandy wants in a manager. I know that's not all that logical, but it is what it is.

Swinging Andy Martino reports that Carlos Beltran is open to moving from center.

He says so himself.

FROM MetsBlog's "Transcript" of Today's Conference Call from PR:
UPDATE, 1:15 p.m.: Beltran feels he can still play center field, but is all for doing whatever is best for the team. If Alderson asks him to move to a corner position, he will listen.

7 Train to Shea is reporting --- and plenty more established outlets are using 7 Train as a source and repeating --- that the Mets are putting out some inquiries regarding trading Jose Reyes.

Seems to me that more established outlets have pretty shitty hunches about what tips to follow.
Can someone who's been paying closer attention tell me what Pignataro's record on this sort of thing has been? (I don't recall anything significant coming out of 7 Train's source pool first at any point in the past... and absolutely NOBODY has anything else on this.)
