If you're like me, you were wondering what that hat he was wearing in this photo is all about. Turns out that Alderson played softball three times a week in a league called Kids 'n' Kubs, featuring seniors playing with children. His sons don't know what he was doing out that late but speculate he was going out to watch football. According to a teammate on this group of over-75-ers, "He's a man who is extremely fast as far as running is concerned. He's the fastest we've got from home to first base."
