Dave Matthews Band's CD of the Citi Field concert comes out on Tuesday. The second Citi CD, I think, with Paul Being the first?

Correct.

AFAIK there has yet to be (assuming Joel's Last Play is a DVD only, and even still it hasn't been released yet) an official release of a Shea Stadium concert.

If you want to get into "Bootlegs" like the Clash record, add The Who, Beatles twice, Jethro Tull and Rory Gallagher.

No, the Clash album is legit, unless Sony is now considered a bootlegger.

I'm positive the Clash record is legit. It's on iTunes, and I borrowed it from my library.

Re: Citi Field on CD

I was THERE, dude.

October, 1982.

I was sitting in the uppder deck between 1st and right, with the stage in dead center. The sound was a muddy mess.

It was THE WHO's farewell tour, with Kenny Jones subbing for the late great Keith Moon. They were touring their last studio album, ITS HARD, which, while better than FACE DANCES, was still pretty lame compared to vintage WHO. Townsend was barely conscious, Daltry couldn't hit any of his big notes, and Entwhistle and Jones barely acknowledged the other 2. They especially paled after The Clash, who totally rocked the casbah. The opening act was David Johansen, in his post-DOLLS pre-BUSTER era, who rocked in a non-distinctive way.

The Clash won me over that night, despite the sound quality. I didn't know there was an album. I hope the sound is better than i remember.

I stand erected on the Clash Record.

I was at Shea for the Who & Clash. It was pissing raining and the Who and Clash sucked. The sound was bad. The room was way big for the Clash.
