Wally Backman Bitter man

This was in todays schnooze. It appears Wally feels he wasn't given a fair shot at the Mets managerial job.

Unless Wally wants to layup in Brooklyn he may want to try a new organization, one that will assure him upfront that his baggage is "history." and personally I hope it is.

I think you misread that. The explosive headline didn't help none, but still...

All that being said, Backman made it clear that he thought he was given a fair shot by Alderson and the new management regime, and said he remains grateful to Fred and Jeff Wilpon for hiring him to manage in Class A Brooklyn last year - his first job with a major league organization since losing the Diamondbacks' position.

As a result, he said he has signed a contract to manage in the minors for the Mets next season, but has yet to be told where he'll be assigned.
