Not me, I'll be home with the kid while wifey and my Mom brave the crowds, neither have ever done it.

Re: Black Friday

No fucking way! I'd rather sleep in and do some treadmill work, and then have some nice time with the family while all of the kids are home.

No! College football day. besides, most of the deals are available online everyday.

Re: Black Friday

only thing extremely worth it is some of those 'door buster' sales with like hundreds off a computer or what not. But as they often require camping in a cold best buy parking lot overnight, and I already beat Angry Birds, no thanks.

I drove past Woodbury Commons at about 9:08. it was a crazy zoo. already. I'm not even sure anything was open.

The wife and Mom are gone to "Black Friday" now.....Toys R Us are starting their big sale now..said there was a line waiting for it to open but they were in quick and have found most everything they wanted at 50% mark down...

Fuck that.

Fwife may go, in which case I will gladly stay home and play with the Fkids. She can have it, I'm an online shopper.

Re: Black Friday

As much as I like the idea of a decent 40-inch flatscreen for 400 bones, I hate the idea of dodging grannies' sharp elbows to get it at least twice as much.

A hip-hop star and his entire posse put together don't own enough weapons to make me get up and go to a mall at 4AM.

Re: Black Friday

A Delorean-shaped time-machine for $400 wouldn't prompt me to get up and go to a mall at 4 AM.

I wouldn't touch Black Friday with a hundred-foot pole.

I don't care if Monday's black
Tuesday, Wednesday --- heart attack

It's Friday, I'm in bed

Seriously? I'd be all over that.

We used to participate in the madness when we lived in Rochester, but haven't since moving to Long Island. Long Island stores are crazy enough without extra madness. No thanks. I've spent my morning hanging with the kids and loading up an Amazon cart.

Missus was only gone a few hours last night , home by 11:30. This was only for the Toys R Us in Bay Plaza, said it was very organized and they got what they wanted at great prices , plus she's working today and stuff was flying of the shelves ....got the kid that Home Depot tool kit(very cool) and the Buzz Lightyear toy that won't be there today....apparently the stores aren't restocking inventory.

I'm working. I'm making sure people have access to their money today.

"I'm in bed" makes it sexy + depressing at the same time.

I love no one enough (myself included) to Black Friday anything (time machine DeLorean the exception).

Re: Black Friday

In my limited experience, with the exception of the crazy door-buster sales, a lot of the stuff on Black Friday isn't really different or better priced than it will be virtually every weekend up through christmas. stores are desperate, and need these sales to compete throughout the season. I feel like there was a ton of "pre-black friday" sales this year too.

Although I am eyeing this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6883227291

as a nice solid computer that will play all the nice games and work smoothly and not be crazy expensive.

No way.

I was up at 6, got my hair cut, went to the gym, then went over to a buddies house to work on my car's brakes. Had a full day by 11.

D-Dad took the boys for haircuts. But they waited until vampire hours were over ;)

Newegg was awesome today. Thanks to Black Friday discounts and intuitive combo deals, got parts to build a new machine for under $500 including OS, probably would have cost around $650 elsewhere.

I'm too much of a misanthrope to actually visit a retail location today. Or most other days, truth be told.

Also, the battery prices are where they get you. It's like the cartridge price on those Mach 5 razors.

Slept in, watched some "Blazing Saddles," took in the NY Botanical Gardens holiday exhibits, then hit a pub in Riverside for dinner.

But you can fly back to February of 1969 and bet the house on the Mets and then buy all the batteries you'll need with your winnings. Use your leftover earnings to impress a pre-pubescent Elle MacPherson.
