Was a fairly highly regarded prospect at one point. Also was part of one of the worst trades in recent MLB history: Bosner along with Joe Nathan and Francisco Liriano to the Twins in exchange for AJ Pierzynski. And the guy who made that deal - Brian Sabean in SF - is busy polishing his WS trophy right now.

The only trade of the 00s that compared was the Rangers trading Chris Young and Adrian Gonzalez to San Diego for Adam Eaton and Akinori Otsuka. And the Rangers also made the WS this year. Go figure. Bonser showed some promise at one point, so I see no harm here.

Not that I ever even slightly agreed with that deal, but for what it's worth, we gave up less and got more than the Giants and Rangers did in those other two trades.
