Inactive for tonight. A moment of silence.

OK, that's long enough.

i'm kinda shocked honestly. Think he plays again or does he retire so that his career is one unbroken streak?

And does he unretire again before Pettitte?

Good - does this mean that people will FINALLY stop talking about him?

Re: No More Favre Streak

He said this year is it, and this injury is considered one whose recovery time exceeds the length of the remainder of the season.

But with Favre...who knows?

now that the streak is over, maybe he'd consider coming back in a "backup Qb with super-secret mentoring skills" role.

Now that the streak is over I suspect he's already played his last game.

I'm tired of Favre. Retire already.

Re: No More Favre Streak

Been tired of him for years - although only part of that is his fault as the one thing worse than his 'Me-ism' is the fawning coverage of ESPN geeks that feeds it while they're camped out on his lawn awaiting the white smoke that signals whether he's going to grace us with his presence.

Either way, 297 straight (321 including playoffs) is a helluva streak.

Yeah, I don't get the industry of talking about how tired everybody is of talking about him.

In fact, I'm tired of talking about how everybody is tired of talking about him!

Wait... what?

Exactly. I don't get it. Has there ever been a more universally loathed legendary player?

Sure. Barry Bonds. Mike Tyson.

Um... Bobby Clarke? Max Baer?

But really, isn't ESPN the real issue here?

Maybe Tyson. San Fran fans LOVED Bonds.

ESPN is definitely a big part of it.

But then Favre does things like put autographed balls up for sale within seconds of the streak ending.

For what, the fifth time? Retire for real and call it a career, already.

Ty Cobb.

Game over.

Not according to Baseball-Fever.com members whom offer revisionist data to counter the Cobb was universally hated "myth".
