Twitter critters are tweeting that Alderson is looking at Capuano's old rotation mate as fit for his budget limitations.

Not much, but some interesting Trachseling mediocrity. If they really don't want to go over $1.5 million base, I'd be surprised to see them land a guy who started 31 games last year.

Re: Dave Bush

He may as well have a tattoo that says "I'm an under .500 pitcher"....nothing wrong with that btw....earned $4,215,000 , heck of a pay cut to fit in with Sandy.

Trachseling mediocrity is a beautiful term btw.

I have memories of the Mets scoring like 7 or 8 times in the first inning against this fish not too long ago.

Re: Dave Bush

You gotta admire that in typical 2008 Mets style they whack the guy around for a huge first inning but let him hang around for another four scoreless. They probably lose the next day on good relief pitching by Milwaukee and sit around scratching their heads as to why.

Wow. Schneider going deep. That's a diamond in the rough.

Re: Dave Bush

I was at that game.

It was a gay dame with co-workers. I was drunk before it started. Wasn't much of a game afer the first inning...not that I'd remember.

Probably a better option than Jeb.

Re: Dave Bush

This game was the high point of the 2008 season, to put us at 79-61. We'd go 10-11 the rest of the way and Philadelphia would go 16-6.

Re: Dave Bush

Actually, that first inning was the high point. When David Wright popped to first in the second inning, the worm had turned.

We really must speak of the thing of beauty that those scorecards are.

Thanks in large part to the Brewers, as I recall.

I don't wanna see another Bush era.

Dave: throws hanging curves
Jeb: threw out hanging chads.

Re: Dave Bush

You nailed it with "Trachselian," Edge.

Re: Dave Bush

I went from Trachseling to Trachselian and back to Trachseling again. I'm not sure. The reality is that we know he can give us that kind of mayonaisse. The question is whether he can deliver it as consistently and enduringly as Steve did.

And what a boring question that is!

But still, it'd be a good pickup for the money. This team is kinda close to having a winning offense (if some guys heal, others stay healthy, and others develop, yadda yadda), so maybe anonymous, pastey, consistently mediocre pitchers can help. He would have to sing for most of his supper, which Steve never did.
