What's left in the Tank?

Adam Rubin reporting that the Mets are set to sign Taylor Tankersley to a minor league deal.

Elbow surgery and a missed seaosn in 2009. Brief and terrible in 2010. What, I ask, is not to like?

Sorry, Michael O'Connor, your life is about to become complectified.

You know what's great though , all these guys will be spending the spring together and getting to know each other and then reporting to minor league camp when the real stuff starts for the players heading north.

Well, I don't approve of guys named Taylor, unless they're, you know, astronauts. Damn you all to hell.

Really, he was part of that snotty group of Marlins with the stupid boy-band names that irritated me: Cody, Jeremy, Taylor, Logan etc etc

(no offense to actual readers with those names, just a personal thing).

F Taylor. Go Michael.

Can't say I'm fond of "Hanley" as a handle either.

Chanelling George Carlin:
"My pals Mikey and Billy and Johnny can kick the shit out of Taylor and Cody and Jeremy."

Re: What's left in the Tank?

28-year old LH power pitcher who walks too many damn hitters.
But heck, he's a lefty and he strikes MFers out, so worth a shot.

He was pretty terrible in limited appearances in 2010, but he still got them lefties out.

Less extreme over the course of his career, but...

No Feliciano, but definitily worth a look, and seemingly at the stage of his career where he'd be happy to take a crack at the role of lefty specialist. But yeah, that walk rate is a challenge.

Met with my writer's group a few weeks ago, and suddenly realized I was sitting with Jim, John, Tom and Ann. What would be the chances with a group 30 years younger?

The slugging rate isn't a picnic either.

That might help explain the walk rate.

Anyway, Pedro's walk rate over the last four years has been nearly as bad.
