IGGT - The Golden Globe Awards

Christian Bale starts off the evening winning Best Supporting Actor in a movie for his role in The Fighter. Rightfully so - not only was it a great acting performance, but his work in the fight sequences was superlative.

I'm watching, but I rarely find them entertaining. Their idea of a good movie/show rarely meshes with why I watch television, and therefore i often haven't seen them.
opening monologue was good though.

Best Actress in a TV Series (Drama) goes to Katie Sagal for Sons of Anarchy. Mrs. Bundy looks good, like she's had work done.

My wife just told me that when they were being interviewed on the red carpet (pre-award) show, Michael Douglas and Catheryn Zeta-Jones were asking if anyone knew the score of the Jets' game. Then they said "Go Green"
I knew I liked them.

Best Actress in a Comedy/Musical goes to Annette Bening for The Kids Are All Right.

It was a great performance, but this film was in no way a comedy (or a musical).

She makes the series, IMO - a gifted character actress who makes any project better for her presence.

The Best Actor in a Drama GG goes to Colin Firth for The King's Speech.

I have no problem with this choice, but I personally would have given it to Mark Wahlberg for The Fighter, because the boxing sequences were amazing. But Firth was excellent as well.

Surprisingly, at least to me, The Social Network wins Best Picture (Drama).

Funny. Though I like her okay in "Glee," (A) I'm pretty sure that her character has to go away for the show to ever really do anything interesting and (B) when I think about it, it's close to my least favorite film/show in which she's been featured (at least that I can recall).
