Was with the Braves for a while, they used him in non-save situations.

He wears high numbers (48, 54, 55, 56, and 78) and his #6 most similar pitcher is Fernando Nieve (978) and #10 is Ambiorix Burgos (975)

Dying over here.

Who knew Boyer was such fun?, this thread might well be his high point as a Met.

Blaine Boyer was my favorite of all the "Facts of Life" girls, until her ass got too big.

Wait, what?

Re: Blaine Boyer come on down.

Mets have a goal of acquiring every BB to ever play baseball.

They're hoping Tim Teufel does his part and sends them a little Blaine Boyer and Boof Bonser for a few weeks this summer.

Not sure if this tweet from Rubin 2 hours ago sheds any light on what's going on or adds confusion

" Blaine Boyer met in Terry Collins' office with the manager and remains unclear his status. He has a Thursday out"

That has to be the world's longest game of "how many fingers am I holding up behind my back."

"Blaine Boyer. Truly a sight to behold. A man beaten. The once great champ, now, a study in moppishness. No longer the victory hungry stallion we've raced so many times before, but a pathetic, washed up, aged ex-champion. "

Disturbing images out of PSL show Blaine Boyer noted hunting enthusiast setting up "his spot" outside the Mets complex.......apparently he's scoping out the managers office

Re: Blaine Boyer come on down.

Another difficult situation. Boyer has been a bit better than Acosta this spring, but Acosta has really only had one bad outing and has a superior track record. Both are probably better than Pedro Beato right now, but Beato has the upside and is a Rule V pick. Boyer also might be (and Acosta most likely is) better than D. J. Carrasco, but Carrasco has a two-year commitment.

The good news is that it's been a seller's market for relievers, so the Mets should be able to get more than the $25,000 waiver claim fee if/when they part ways with somebody.

Re: Blaine Boyer come on down.

Carrasco is set up to be their long reliever/spot starter.
