Every game, from 1962 through 2010, regular and post season.

Here's a sample:

Great job!
And what a game to give us as out first example!

Is there going to be a direct link at the top of the main page to these? If not a main link, what will be the path?

You can get to it through the Game Results. There's a tab on the same page that has the box scores and game memories.

I agree. Nice added touch on the font choice.

Thank you everyone. I hope that this new feature is only used for niceness and never for evil.

This, in Casey's words, Amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing amazing ...

When I learned to score, we put the player responsible for advancing the runner, not the play. So in the second inning, Boggs going from first and second would be annotated "4" -- the second baseman responsible for the advance -- rather than "1b."

Re: UMDB News: The scorecard thing is live!

I would do it with the uniform number of the player, but that wasn't an option here. I'm not entirely satisfied with the way the scorecard shows how runners advance, but it was the best that could be done with reasonable effort.

But thanks for the Casey quote!

Re: UMDB News: The scorecard thing is live!

I'm not entirely sure either. I honestly never scored who was responsible for advancing lead runners (except to note RBIs on a hit with dots underneath the hit).

I think we should check various sources for you. As it is, it kind of looks like the guy gets a second hit while standing on second base.

I can't believe the Wilpons are trying to undercut your news.

Re: UMDB News: The scorecard thing is live!

Comic Sans is, I think, the most reviled font around.

I don't hate it as much as these people or these people but it's never looked quite right to me. Even if you try to use it for its intended purpose, it looks too... cute, or something.

Re: UMDB News: The scorecard thing is live!

This guy does uniform numbers. So does this guy, but he calls his site "the art of manliness," spells "triple" as "tripple," and uses Jeter in his scoring example, so I would ignore him completely.

I recommend getting rid of jotterscript. It sounds too much like jeterscript.

Re: UMDB News: The scorecard thing is live!

The 25-inning game is one to drool over for its endlessness and thoroughness (result notwithstanding). Can't imagine anybody's scorecard looked so fresh after the third seventh-inning stretch of the night.

Kudos like krazy, Grimm.

Re: UMDB News: The scorecard thing is live!

what does 4(B)43 mean? fielded by 4, bobbled, picked up and thrown to 3?

Re: UMDB News: The scorecard thing is live!

I'm not sure. I think the (B) might mean that the ball was bunted. That's my guess, anyway.

Thanks! Unlike a paper scorecard, mine can stretch both horizontally and vertically as needed, as this example shows!
