Tankersly, Byrdak, O'Connor

Tankersly, Byrdak, O'Connor
Each a champ or maybe a goner
Utley and Howard
Are no match for a coward
Which lefthander do you honor?

Gun at your head, which of these guys do you think steps forward this spring? One will likely make the squad, but probably not more than one.

Byrdak? I dunno. I think there's a good chance that the pick on Opening Day doesn't stick all year anyway.

"Are no task for a coward," perhaps? Your way makes it sound like all we need is a coward, and we're loaded for red-pinstriped bear.

At this point, I'd guess Byrdak, because of the track record. But I'd imagine this will be a strict who's-throwing-better-in-March thing. Honestly, if none of them is kicking ass and taking names, I'd rather have a semi-decent righty with a mild-to-nonexistent platoon split.

I'm trying to picture a scenario in which a gun is put to my head regarding the composition of the Mets bullpen. Other than by myself as the 2008 season drew to its conclusion.
