Rotary Clock

In the Cheese 2011 thread, 'Thon posted a picture of what he calls a "rotary clock".

Are there any rotary clocks that you still use?
Are there any public rotary clocks still in use in your neighborhood?
Or has your entire world gone digital?

There's one in front of the local library.

I still have an analog wristwatch.

Re: Rotary Clock

No rotary clocks in my neighborhood, but I have one in my kitchen, one in my living room on one in my bathroom.

My bedroom alarm clock and the one on the computer are digital.

Re: Rotary Clock

We have a bunch of rotary clocks (I don't think I've heard that term before) hanging in our house. Digital doesn't seem to work so well for wall clocks, unless, perhaps, you're in a train station. All of the nightstand clocks in our house are digital.

Ben, I'd never heard that term before, either. But it conveyed such a vivid image, it made me want to ask the question.

We only have one in our house, in the kitchen.
Can't think of any in our neighborhood.

Re: Rotary Clock

I think the term that mm chooses is a reference to the fact that the clock is paid for and maintained by Rotary International as a way to advertise their mission.

There is a public clock on main street in my town. What I miss are the digital ones I used to see in NYC that provided temperature information as well. (I do not, however, miss the freezing temps).

I'm half-surprised on that one that each of the numerals weren't replaced by D O N A L D J. T R U M P
