Are we not getting tax forms in the mail this year? Did anybody else get theirs?

Re: IRS question

A bit early yet right?, my work usually doesn't send out anything until mid February IIRC.

Re: IRS question

The W-2's are to be sent out by January 31.

The state and federal governments may not be sending out forms anymore since so many do them electronically. If you still need paper forms, you should be able to get them at the local post office.

Re: IRS question

No, not W2s, the actual forms. I already printed some off of the internet, but I was waiting for the book of instructions they usually send. I've always done mine by hand. A bit of a dinosaur I guess

Re: IRS question

The stimulus bill has delayed the process. Itemized Schedule A returns are not accepted until 2/14..All others may be filed now.

Re: IRS question

jeez. Well, I won't be ready before then anyway, but it was always nice to get the instructions with the new tax stuff on the inside cover. Last year that is how I found out about the new Education grants and also something else (I forget what) that amounted to a lot of money for me.

Don't count on it. I know that in recent years the feds have only sent the instructions and the EZ 1040 forms and directions to the website for everything else. If they're scaling back more the libraries may not have anything to offer but a computer and printer.

Ashie, is the Schedule A going to change? I am filling mine out now, but should I wait?
