Prince-and-pauper comedy features Kevin Kline as an asshole president and the everyman-presidential imitator hired to take his place when said asshole president has a stroke.

Lots of loose ends but lots of charm also. No rape scenes.

Hard to believe this movie is almost 20 years old.

I liked it when it came out. I haven't seen it in years. Completely unbelievable...but still a fun concept. Kevin Kline does a nice job.

Pretty good. Not poll-worthy apparently.

I kinda liked the message.

Re: Dave (1993)

I think this might have been the first movie I ever saw with my wife. (It wasn't our first date; we had been together for a while before we went to the movies.) I seem to remember it being enjoyable and cute. Haven't seen it in 18 years now.

Entertaining, gentle-spirited fantasy. Kline at his most charming.

Frank Langella makes cookie-cutter bad guys really, really menacing.

Liked it when it first came out. Later watched it with my kids and found it really predictable.

Re: Dave (1993)

I really liked this movie. Unbelievable premise, but somehow Kevin Kline makes it work. He and Sigourney Weaver have some nice chemistry together. I must admit, I still crack up at the "I once caught a fish this big" scene...

I have liked every Kevin Kline movie I've seen, as long as it didn't include a huge fucking spider*.

*had to include a Kevin Smith reference here

Re: Dave (1993)

I remember liking it , Kevin Kline was kind of hot property back then IIRC but that went nowhere.
