That's not our A-lineup.

19 pitches, 19 strikes.

Is there a split squad? I'm just following it on Gameday.

Away game, so...

A couple of strung-together singles and an (apparently) air-mailed throw from Duda aside, Niese's handling a pretty potent lineup-- sans Adrian Gonzalez-- nicely: 6 K, 0 BB, 4 H, 2 R (1 earned) over 4.

Niese Looks good, and Lester giving up a lot of hard hit fly outs, ball not carrying

I left in the throes of optimism, come back to discover Niese gave up 5 runs in 5 innings.

Only one ex-Mets and one Brittany Spears straddling 2B.

Hey, pitchers get hit. Niese doesn't have that funky a windup, or ridiculous movement on the fastball, so he's not immune to this.

What he's got, though, is 17 Ks in 16.1 innings and just 4 BBs (4.25 K/BB) in 4 spring starts. He keeps doing that, and a breakthrough year's in the offing.

Also, in less happy news, Mike O'Connor did let an inherited runner score-- the first of 6 he's had handed him this spring.

THE RACE FOR SECOND:
Castillo: DNP
Emaus (DH): 1-4, 1 R
Hernandez (SS-2B): 0-4
Hu (3B-SS): 0-3
Murphy (2B-1B): 1-4, BB, R, RBI
And, For Your Consideration:Turner (3B): 2-2, bases-loaded 2B, R, 3 RBI

I sense that Turner has a real opportunity here, if he can take advantage of it.

Turner, unfortunately, is the only one with minor-league options remaining.

And with an ax coming tomorrow...

But at least he was enjoying his last meal with friends (like Kirk Nieuwenhuis, who's name i now know how to spell, meaning he'll get demoted too) at Duffy's when he returned to Port St. Lucie.

Also, I'm told (by a random waiter who saw our Mets stuff) That all the Wilpons ate their earlier. They tipped _very_ well, but not as well as in years past.

You need to learn to center your photos better. In this case you cut off half your subject and let some random ballplayer stray into the shot.

Rather than focus on the misplay, I'm looking at the ad in the back. Is it a Hooters ad?
