Scoreless in the third. Prado, lf Gonzalez, ss Heyward, rf Uggla, 2b Freeman 1b Russ, c Mather, cf Lucas, 3b Kawakami, p Reyes, ss Pagan, cf Wright, 3b Duda, rf Bay, lf Murphy, 1b Turner, 2b Thole, 3b Pelfrey, p Thole just led off the third by doubling over the centerfielder's head.

Pelfrey advances him over with a gounder to short (no bunt? have we escaped Planet Jerry?), and Reyes singles him home. Mets up, 1-0.

Pelfrey sounds a little off in the third, let's see if he can snap things back under control.

Getting a couple of softer hits here, which has been Pelfrey's problem mainly, with the lack of Ks.

Big Pelf sucked the BHMC in Spring Training last year too, if I recall. All the same, it'd sure be nice if he'd have one good outing.

Pelfrey has said that he can't seem to get in a competitive frame of mind for exhibition games. He's tried pretending that the game matters, but it doesn't work for him.

Presumably he's dead both in the present, the future, and the recent past. (I think this happened a month ago)

The Mets score 4 in the 9th to win 8-7. Walk-off single by L. Hernandez. All the 2B candidates chipped in--Turner was HBP, Emaus with a RBI single, D. Murphy with an RBI single.

Paulino almost tied it himself off the lefty-- pinch-hit flyball to the deepest part of left-center. Unfortunately, Oberholtzer and Broadway are both NRIs, and seem unlikely to come (slightly) north.
