IGT, 3/22-- Mets @ Tigers

Niese got tagged a bit, but Beato settles things down with two scoreless. I swear to God that this is the first time I'm "seeing" Byrdak pitch. (A 1-2-3 7th, no less.)

Mets up 5-4, on a Wille Harris... grand... slam? I didn't know Mets were allowed to do that.

Nick Evans won't give up on the roster spot without a fight; he doubles leading off the 8th-- his second hit of the day, and third time on base. He's up to .310/.354/.397 for the spring.

Ronny Paulino doubles him home; around Paulino, the three second-base candidates not named Justin Turner do nothing productive (although Emaus does have two walks, a steal and a run today).

The Projected Roster Central Office is predicting Harris and Evans both break camp as Beltran stays behind.

I can see that.

Nice day for the corner-outfield irregulars; in addition to Evans and Harris, Duda went 3-4 with 2 runs scored, and young InsulinBombs doubled in an insurance run in the 9th.

Not so nice day for the second base brigade. All four starting prospectives and Hu went a combined 0-8; Emaus was the only one who did ANYTHING offensively, and he struck out with a man on third in the 8th.

Do you think Duda will stay?

I thought they might use him in RF at Shea.

That's not where we're at right now, but the Central Office is working round the clock.
