Re: Florida in 2011

I love that they rumbled in there to put an end to animal cruelty... then ended up executing a Florida Marlins crowd's worth of birds. Well, actually, I love it all.

But that's one thing. Florida's running with an established track record of funnystuff. Like, say, the beauty queen who shot a home invader dead... and is now seeking to cash in.

The way I see it is, the guy was a really bad guy and if it wasn't my bullets, it probably would have been the police officer's bullets. It's not like he was going to turn his life around.

The model and her fiancee claim they didn't know Hill before the break-in. Police are apparently investigating whether that's actually the case.

BONUS: "Mommy held me out the window."

Have you ever watched that Segal show? ,when you think reality TV can't go lower this comes along, you'll find yourself turning your ears towards the TV to try and hear him as he seems to whisper everything.......just like in his movies IIRC.

I remember one show where he was showing the squad room some of his moves, you could tell they were doing their best not to laugh at him.

Perhaps he just hates bikes...

She said Gray purposely crashed into her leg and bicycle, knocking her off. Further, she said he picked up the bike, which her late father gave her, and “slammed” it down, causing the front tire to come off.

“(The victim) stated that Gray has chased her for the last three days around the parking lot, but she never called the police,” an affidavit states.

Gray, who police said appeared “very intoxicated,” denied doing anything. He then offered the woman money to repair the bike.

... and perhaps he just hates not-being-in-jail.

A homeless man, who has been arrested at least 120 times since 1998, has been arrested after a woman accused him of assaulting her while she was passed out.

Police didn't have to go far to find Grady Bell, 67; he was already being held at the Palm Beach County Main Detention Center.

On Tuesday, Bell came before Circuit Judge Krista Marx on a trespassing charge. Because of his frequent visits to the jail, Marx ordered Bell to undergo a mental health evaluation this morning. Instead, he stood in front of Marx yet again, this time facing a sexual battery charge.

Marx, who is so familiar with Bell that she calls him by his first name, ordered he be held in lieu of $101,000 bond.

Buying cough drops in the Walgreens in Sanford. Might want to stay away from the lemon-lime. Or, you know, any of the bags that smell like urine.

STOOPID WAN CRAWDADDY. NO CRAWDADDY? STOOPIDS MAD. LUCKY, STOOPID CAN HAZ A MASHEEN GUN CUZ STOOPIDS MURRIKAN.

Kelly allegedly called the seafood market to order crawfish and became "incredibly irate" when an employee said the store didn't have any, according to a Sheriff's Office report.
From 4:50 p.m. to 5:20 p.m., Kelly called the market 11 times, according to the business' caller ID. The later calls went unanswered because the business closed at 5 p.m., investigators said.

Employees found 11 bullet holes in the front of the store the next morning.

When law enforcement tracked him down and tried to arrest him on foot, Kelly allegedly attempted to hit them with his car.

Mentally disabled man beaten after complimenting Ga. Bulldogs shirt

By Fran Jeffries

A Publix employee in Jacksonville was attacked after complimenting a man wearing a Georgia Bulldogs T-shirt.

James Wall, 26, said, “Hey, I like your shirt,” and Ryan Keys responded by punching Wall in the face, according to wokv.com.

The attack happened Friday at the Publix on Duval Station Road, but the details were not made public until recently, according to the website.

Wall told News4Jax.com that he complimented Keys on his Bulldogs T-shirt, and for no apparent reason, Keys was offended by the statement and decided to attack him.

Wall has worked at the store for the past seven years. His family told News4Jax.com that he has the mental capacity of a teenager.

Wall was punched in the face so hard it knocked his two front teeth out; the teeth were found 10 to 12 feet from where he was lying, according to the website.

Police described Keys as 6-foot-4 and 275 pounds. Keys fled the scene and was later arrested at his home and charged with aggravated battery and resisting arrest, according to the website.

What hits me about the Floridian news stories is how soon the guns come out. Cut me off in the parking lot, talk to my gun. Your kid pushed mine on the playground? Say hello to my little friend. In some cases, someone calls the cops, the cops arrive and shoot the caller who greets them with a gun.

I vaguely remember a joke from the early 90s that they should name the expansion Miami baseball team the Humidity so people could say "It's not the Heat that are so bad, it's the Humidity."

From Palm Bay, FL, more Father-of-the-Year stuff... or should I say, "Father/Teen-Street-Fight-Referee-of-the-Year?"

Police said Johnson had just refereed a street fight between the other teen and his son, who gave up.
Police have not released the name of the 16-year-old victim because of his age, but authorities said he came to the Johnson's home for the semi-organized street fight. But when the teenager started talking back to Johnson, the roles suddenly changed.
The 6-foot-5-inch, 220-lb. man clocked the 16-year-old in the head, knocking him to the ground and continued to beat him. Eventually Johnson's son returned to try to break up the fight by holding his father back.
