Forget about throw-back uniform night, we got us some retro hair going on as Coco Crisp rocks the afro.






He's been keeping it in braids so long that I don't think anyone realized it had gotten ... well, so long.

I just had an Oscar Gamble flashback.
IIRC outfielder Billy Cowan had an Afro like that when he was with Chicago, but he toned it down when he came to the Mets.

Oscar Gamble remains the gold standard of afros but, during the mid-70s, I think Nino Espinosa and Billy Baldwin were the Mets that my then 10-11 year-old sister referred to as "the Mickey Mouse Twins" in honor of their large, black, rotund "ears" that stuck out from under their caps.
