Boy Genius Kicks Sox Management, Fans in 'Nads

So Theo's gone, allegedly in part due to internal Sox politics.

It seems to have turned a majority of folk at SoSH into mini-Sal's.

]Oh, I definitely expect them to do something like sign a popular Damon to appease the masses.

Keep butts in the seats by giving the dog and pony show. Don't worry about World Series victories. The cows got their treat in 04 and will keep grazing no matter what.

I can't decide if I should be revelling in their misery or worried that this will allow the MFY keep their stranglehold on the ALE.

I am 100% certain, however, that it's all Sal's fault for becoming a Sox fan.

I wouldn't be too upset by this. The 2004 team was built on as many screw ups (ARod), and second choices (they wanted Vazquez over Schilling), as anything else. I posted all of this somewhere to make fun of a poster's decision to become a bandwagoner based on "management's committment to the fans" or some other such horseshit.

WEEI radio callers were already turning on Theo over the summer. He put together the team that won a World Series for God's sake. Red Sox fans are stupid.

It's perfect for Epstein really, especially is the Sox go in the tubes for years, he will be remembered as the one to take them to the promised land...the legend of Theo will grow..

Well, over at SoSH, at least, they're blaming the loss of Boy Genius on Lucchiano for being a pain in the ass and they're very, very upset about it.

I'm getting the sense it'd be like if Jeff Wilpon decided to negotiate with David Wright himself and managed to piss him off enough that he filed for free agency.

That's about what the mood is like over there.

Good times.

True. The IQ's are much higher at SOSH than WEEI.

This reminds me last summer I saw a bumper sticker that read: BELICHICK/EPSTEIN 2008. Oh well....

Speaking of low IQs, on the FAN they were saying Epstein tried to get rid of Lucchino, Lucchino blasted him for it, and Epstein got mad and left. I have no idea if this is accurate.

So, in honor of Theo's grandfather's and grand-uncle's most famous screenplay, maybe we can recreate the breakup talks between Lucchino and Epstein:

- LL: "Shall we play it again Theo?"

- TE: How 'bout for 20,000 Francs a year?"

- LL: Better make it 10,000, I'm just a poor corrupt baseball official"

- TE: I'm shocked, SHOCKED to discover that there's low-balling going on in here"

- LL: "Of all the sports franchises in all the world, you had to walk into mine"

- TE: "I'm afraid it would take a miracle to get past the Yankees next year and steinbrenner has outlawed miracles"

- LL: "Look, it doesn't take much to understand that the problems of two little people doesn't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world"

-TE: "I stick my neck out for nobody"

- LL: "Then where I'm going, you can't follow. What I need to do you can't be part of. Some day you'll understand that, maybe not tomorrow, but soon, and for the rest of your life"

- TE: We'll always have St. Louis"

- LL (as Theo walks out the door): "Here's looking at the WS trophy kid"

- TE (turns back one last time): "Lucchini, I think this is the end of a beautiful friendship"

- LL (picking up the phone to owner John Henry): "We need a new General Manager ... round up the usual suspects"

Shyeet, when you're starting with material like that all you have to do is come up with the idea and the damn thing writes itself.
