:

what has Brett done since 1996 > NINE seasons ago? besides handing Elway his first SB trophy?

whats the media's fascination with this drug abusing alcoholic?

my guess?

besides throwing five interceptions every Sunday -

they're happy he's not black.

come now,
he's exciting as hell to watch.
and
he's constantly - especially THIS year - being critiqued on his QB skills.
even on the VT v. Miami game last night, the ESPN color commentator mentioned VT's Marcus is a "real QB" while Mike "is a running back playing QB". Which may be correct but ...

More poetry.

Mike and Marcus are both WRs playing QB.

Same facination media always has with that aging QB that had a great run of a few years but is sadly past his prime

Thats kind of how Steve Young managed to get into Canton

Be considered a grinder that can't get over a hump, or in someone's lenghty shadow (and Green Bay hadn't won a championship since SB II when a true HOF named Starr was QB) and then FINALLY WIN THE BIG ONE you don't have to do a damn thing for the rest of your career

regardless of what you think of Favre, his being white has nothing to do with the media allegedly going down on him...if they were just looking for a white QB to talk up there are not one but two guys named Manning looking good right now.

If you're going to start a thread blasting somebody, don't you think you should be able to spell his name right, at the very least?

But that was only because "Farve" was white.

I had the same thoughts last week when the national tv game was Green Bay against the Vikings. Two really awful teams. And every sports recap show that night spent an inordinate amout of time showing highlights from that game.

Somewhere there is someone (a network executive?) who thinks the world still gives a flying rat's rectum about the Packers (and Favre).

ha! was not favre reckless (or "a gunslinger") on that last drive?

we forget how these two teams - were by far the worse two teams in the playoffs in '04. Brett had something like 5 INTs v. Minn. - he lost the game practically by himself - and Minn. didn't even show v. Phil.

AND Vick complained after the win yesterday v. Dolphins about getting no credit for being a good QB. or something (looking for the quote for y'all). In case you dont know it - half of the ATL complains about Vick not being a good QB. I'm sure that Green Bay slams Brett that way on Sunday.

he now leads the most "thrown interceptions" category
by 11, with 28 !

I'm thinking of writing a childrens book "Brett and the Giant Ball Hog"
