Really, I was a little "bleh" about Marlo/Jamie Hector as a character/an actor right up until that holding cell scene. I'd thought him menacing enough, but not with any sort of depth or energy-- he was just sort of spookily blank until he took that slight personally. Some King Lear-quality raging, there.

Two starts in a row for Nickeas. A reward for his Homeric greatness yesterday? Something up with Thole?

Generous scoring prevent Pridie from getting an error on his first play.

Was NOT obvious from TV (or maybe I'm just stupid) and challenging the call didn't even occur to me until Terry came trotting out of the dugout. Once the slo-mo replays ran it was clear it was a HR and so there was little suspense waiting for the umps. Lotsa nice ABs from Wright in the last two nights.
|
Rockin' Doc Apr 23 2011 09:50 AM Re: IGT - 4/22/11 Diamondbacks at Mets |
When I first saw the replay in game speed I would not have even questioned that it was a home run. Pretty obvious though when you watch it in slow motion. That's why I hate lines on the outfield walls. Just put the damn fence where you want it to be, then if it is over the wall it is a home run, if not, too bad.

I was blowin away by Terry not bunting with his number two hitter int he bottom of the eighth. Learn, Terry, learn! I lay down during Pridie's at-bat, intending to listen to Hayne and Wowie take me home. I fell asleep almost instantly. Woke up freezing at one AM. Thanks, Mets. You outlasted me.
