And I can't find my way home ... (and other Sunday OoT news)

Some interesting plays at the plate this Easter Sunday ...

- Andrew McCutcheon of Pitt gets thrown out at home trying to tag on a fly ball to Jayson Werth in RF to end the game. McCutcheon is super fast although the ball wasn't all that deep ... and here's the thing: Pitt was down by three at the time and there was no one else on base!! There is ZERO upside to tagging there unless you're 130% sure you're going to be safe because you need two more guys to score behind you. Also, he should have been safe (and might actually have been) but he didn't help himself by making a lazy slide.

- In Bal'mer, Mariano blew a save in the 9th (his 2nd in a row btw). After a walk and a single sandwiched around two outs, Brian Roberts lined a double down the RF line to tie the game, but the winning run in the form of PR Roberto Andino was thrown out at the plate on a relay from Swisher to Cano. Looked like he might have been safe but, again, another less than great slide. Geez guys, how 'bout getting a wee bit aggressive now and then?!? It's only the game on the line.

- Then, to return the favor a half-inning later, Yanx get 1st & 3rd with one out in Top-10 when ARod lofts a fly to medium-deep CF. Looked like it would score Jeter from 3rd fairly easily but Adam Jones uncorked a great throw and catcher Weiters added great plate blockage to stop Jeter from scoring the go-ahead.

The Birds failed to score in bottom 10 so now it's on to the 11th ... and now it's raining and the game is being held. Stay tuned.
