My first thought when I saw the photos was that Dillon Gee had somehow found his way back into the rotation.

Two positives for tonight:

The Nationals played last night, and on the road, while the Mets rested and

"#Nats have placed Ian Desmond on the paternity leave list and recalled OF Roger Bernadina from Syracuse."

Y'know, with four consecutive wins in the books, that top six looks almost formidable.

BTW, history on tap tonight, so be sure to tune in.

In his last three starts against the Nationals, Chris Young has allowed three hits, two hits, and one hit.

good fielding decision by LaRoche, decides to go to first with the slow-footed Ike chugging home in front of him.

oh boo, home run for the egyptian god.

no, that's Ra, not ramos. silly me.

This is Ramos.

Re: IGT - 4/26/11 Mets at Nationals

LaRoche has a bum shoulder, and can't really... um... throw.

Bunting?

For runs?

What is this game we're watching? 'Cause it isn't Met baseball.

first XBH for Cora with a lead off double. That should hold him for the month.

Beltran put it in gear rounding second and looked smooth.

I was holding my breath abit.

Nats fail to capitalize with a runner on third with one out. two Ks, Werth looking.

Just keep it rolling rolling rolling..

Re: IGT - 4/26/11 Mets at Nationals

Young bearing down to strand the runner at third was nice.

That Cora was that runner, and on via double, no less? A bit... distasteful, no?

On the Walter Reed trip, do the Mets "need" to advertise good works?

Werth just absolutely crushed that. 3-2 Metsies.

Pitcher on four pitches. Espinosa after starting 0-2.

Bad walks tend to have bad results.

Re: IGT - 4/26/11 Mets at Nationals

I played whiffleball with Lunchpail before dinner tonight and our game came down to Roger Bernadina (me) batting with the game on the line and the Mets (him) prevailing.

Their shitty left fielder gave us a big gift but clutchiness nonetheless from Iggy and Buchhy made it stick.

Listened to the final innings on a run and switched over afterward in time to hear John Sterling call the end of the MFY game "Chicago wins!" on a brilliant catch apparently. Nice night!

I saw the end of that Yankee game.

Yanks down 3-2, bottom 9 with tying and winning runs on 2nd and 3rd, one out.

ARod blasts one to the deepest part of right field (edge of the infield grass at Citi), the right fielder goes back-back-back-back fast, hits the wall hard with glove hand extended fully away from his body and......MAKES THE CATCH! Two outs. ARod slaps hands against head in frustration as he hits first base.

Cano up next, lines an absolute screamer to right, a no-doubt double EXCEPT the said same right fielder sprints to his left, dives and makes a full extension belly flop and...MAKES THE CATCH! Game over! As the White Sox RF is in the process of actually making the catch he pumps his arms in celebration! Cano slams down his helmet upon reaching first.

Great ending.

OE: I was wrong - runners were on first and second not second and third. No matter though, if the ARod ball fell in, the game would've been tied and if the Cano ball fell, the Skankees would've won.

Re: IGT - 4/26/11 Mets at Nationals

Oswalt pulled after three innings, 57 pitches. 5 runs. the brilliant Kendrick in, who may be angling for a start against the Mets and Chris Young come Sunday, trying to avoid a sweep.
