Hopefully Livan Hernandez will not be able to concentrate because of this.

When was the last time the Mets swept two series in a row?

I wouldn't be surprised if it was the otherthreadmentioned Cleveland Baltimore sweep.

The Baltimore/Cleveland stomp last season was the last double sweep.

Poor play on the bunt allowing the run to score when Livan was up.

Everything Werth touches turns to douche.

I really dislike the bunt here with Capuano.

Gwreck Apr 28 2011 06:29 PM Re: IGT - 4/28/11 Mets at Nationals |
Pudge error! Time to make them pay.

Really needed a hit there.

TransMonk Apr 28 2011 06:39 PM Re: IGT - 4/28/11 Mets at Nationals |
Desmond HR. Cappy's letting this one get away tonight.

Gwreck Apr 28 2011 06:48 PM Re: IGT - 4/28/11 Mets at Nationals |
Nice RBI double for Ike. Would like to break through with a lead though...

I want it to be one way, but it's not. It's the other way.

The thing is those at-bats by rights belong to Fartinez. Just got to get the man healthy.

Meanwhile, the Beat(o) goes on.

He is healthy and killing it right? I really love Beltran, but the absolute ideal situation this year might b e that he continues to destroy the ball in AAA, stays healthy, and takes Beltran's spot in late July when we make a 2004 RedSox/Nomaresque trade to fill some holes.

I agree. He should spend more time on the AAA disabled list so that when it's time for him to be on the major league DL, he'll be ready.
|
Ceetar Apr 29 2011 08:31 AM Re: IGT - 4/28/11 Mets at Nationals |
|
Well yes, but most of 2011 would classify through July if he's hitting .400. he had 2 hits and 3 RBIs last night. Still only had a couple of handfuls of AB this year though.
|
Edgy DC Apr 29 2011 08:41 AM Re: IGT - 4/28/11 Mets at Nationals |
Fartinez has been back in action for six games this week. He's only had 37 plate-appearances so far, but he's slashing at .353 / .405 / .529 / .935. Nice.

John Cougar Lunchbucket Apr 29 2011 08:57 AM Re: IGT - 4/28/11 Mets at Nationals |
As mentioned elsewhere, Fartinez and Nieuwenhuis oughta be knocking at the door if Pagan's injuries and/or struggles continue
|
TransMonk Apr 29 2011 08:59 AM Re: IGT - 4/28/11 Mets at Nationals |
IMO, this game got us one step closer to Gee and Capuano flipping starter/reliever roles.
|
John Cougar Lunchbucket Apr 29 2011 09:02 AM Re: IGT - 4/28/11 Mets at Nationals |
Yeah, I don't if Capuano is ever going to be better than OK anymore.
|
TransMonk Apr 29 2011 09:11 AM Re: IGT - 4/28/11 Mets at Nationals |
Well, Cappy might be better served as the primary lefty out of the bullpen as his numbers against left-handed batters aren't horrible.
