The Bay watch

So, even though there's nothing official yet, we assume he's not only going to be activated today but also be in tonight's lineup. If so it'll be for the first time since last July 25th a date which was shortly after Beltran showed up for 2010. In fact, the quartet of Reyes, Wright, Beltran & Bay were all in the starting lineup for [u:2rk7rmiz]SIX[/u:2rk7rmiz] games last year. Not sure if it says anything that the team was 1-5 in those games.

At this point I've sort of forgotten what he looks like.

I wish I had some confidence that the 2011 Jason Bay would be more like the 2009 version than the 2010 model.

Yeah that was the last time we had our top-of-the-depth-chart contingent all available, although Francouer started over Pagan and Thole over Barajas. They weren't scoring runs that Dodger series, although that got plenty of hits, so I have to assume they bunted their lives away.

Only once: in the top of the 9th in a tie game after a leadoff walk. No, the runner didn't score. That was the game that we didn't get any hits after the 6th inning (it went 13).

There wasn't a lot of hitting that series but what killed any chances at scoring was bad/unlucky baserunning (several runners thrown out attempting to steal) and a couple of Ks/GIDPs with runners in scoring position and less than 2 outs.
