Mets lineup vs. LA on Friday:

Davis in front of Bay would suit me fine.

'specially since Davis-Pridie-Thole sets up the perfect spot for a lefty reliever to be brought in late in the game.
|
Edgy DC May 06 2011 12:31 PM Re: IGT 5/6: Contra Los Doyers |
Yeah, but Pridie would typically be pulled in that situation.

Frayed Knot May 06 2011 01:00 PM Re: IGT 5/6: Contra Los Doyers |
In favor of Hairston no doubt (or, worse yet, Hu) - neither one of which will exactly have Donnie Baseball quaking in his boots.

Gwreck May 06 2011 01:09 PM Re: IGT 5/6: Contra Los Doyers |
Good thing the only lefty in the Dodgers bullpen is Hong-Chi Kuo, the 8th Inning Guy(TM), who may now have been promoted to Closer(TM).

Under most normal circumstances, he'd probably be stepping in there. But by all indications, Padilla's holding the fort for now, as Kuo's just back from the DL, and more than a bit iffy yet, performance- and durability-wise.

First pitch tonight by Chris Cannizzaro who's dad was killed on 9/11, this from Rubin

Andre Ethier extends his streak to 30. It may not be too too long before ESPN starts following him.

Ashie62 May 06 2011 05:31 PM Re: IGT 5/6: Contra Los Doyers |
Reyes looks like an azz with the fist pump after a triple.

G-Fafif May 06 2011 05:42 PM Re: IGT 5/6: Contra Los Doyers |
Rod Barajas -- hard to be mad at that guy for doing what he does every May at Citi Field.

Throbbed.

KABOOM!

So true, Jose looked like he had the stink of an MFY for the moment.

Tholes fly is out anyway else.

G-Fafif May 06 2011 06:01 PM Re: IGT 5/6: Contra Los Doyers |
Kevin Elster in the booth, asked about his late-career power surge. All but admitted, in a ha-ha manner, that he was enjoying the juice.

Through 4, we're keeping pace with a shambling, wounded animal.

Pridie stays.

G-Fafif May 06 2011 07:28 PM Re: IGT 5/6: Contra Los Doyers |
Pridie the Mets, a major motion picture starring Jason Pridie as the Iron Horse (featuring Angel Pagan as Wally Pipp).

LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr May 06 2011 07:58 PM Re: IGT 5/6: Contra Los Doyers |
Holy hell, is it Trachsel Tribute Night tonight? Catcher visits and pitching changes, and everyone but Niese on both sides has taken close to a minute between pitches.

smg58 May 06 2011 08:03 PM Re: IGT 5/6: Contra Los Doyers |
Every time I think we need to try and find a better centerfield option, Pride comes up with a huge hit. I guess I should think that way more often?

Muffy with the pretty play.
|
Fman99 May 06 2011 08:20 PM Re: IGT 5/6: Contra Los Doyers |
Reyes is locked in at the plate.
|
smg58 May 06 2011 08:22 PM Re: IGT 5/6: Contra Los Doyers |
I was just going to say that myself.

LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr May 06 2011 08:36 PM Re: IGT 5/6: Contra Los Doyers |
Not even the White-Jerrying with the pitching moves ruined the fun of Reyes' O and Pridie's play.

Centerfield May 06 2011 10:08 PM Re: IGT 5/6: Contra Los Doyers |
Story of the night has to be Fat Ed Hearn.
|
Gwreck May 06 2011 10:11 PM Re: IGT 5/6: Contra Los Doyers |
I can deal with opposing teams fans, and even the obnoxious ones. But the stupid ones? Drives me nuts.

Gotta say I didn't see that Pridie HR coming.

Ed has had several very serious health problems since his baseball days. I wasn't expecting him to be in the best of shape. How'd you like Elster though? Mornings = gym, afternoons = beach. Rinse, lather, repeat.

soupcan May 07 2011 12:49 PM Re: IGT 5/6: Contra Los Doyers |
Fat Ed Hearn - yup, noticed it too, even more alarming than very old looking, bald George Foster.

This is why you should surround yourself with CPFers at these events. Insulation from the rabble. Well, the other rabble.
|
Frayed Knot May 07 2011 01:32 PM Re: IGT 5/6: Contra Los Doyers |
Better the rabble you know than the rabble you don't.
