Friday the 13th in Hu'ston IGT

Feeling good today as Gee opposes Bud Norris. I missed the 'stros visit to NYC last month on vacation, so as far as I'm concerned I think we can go out there and take them lightly. LGM, YGB yyy, bbb

Today, the team with more Jasons should win.

Odds are 3:1 that R.A. Dickey shows up to the park today looking like Jason.

Re: Friday the 13th in Hu'ston IGT

1. Jose Reyes SS
2. Josh Thole C
3. David Wright 3B
4. Carlos Beltran RF
5. Jason Bay LF
6. Daniel Murphy 1B
7. Justin Turner 2B
8. Jason Pridie CF
9. Dillon Gee P

Thole back up in the two-hole. I wonder what that's all about.

I'm sure it's nothing to do with numbers and more likely Collins has a gut feeling about it.

It's in case Turner sucks and they have to double-switch Thole to second base.

Maybe Collins has some weird managerial sidebet going.

If nothing else, Pridie's proving himself ultracapable at covering ground in CF; that said, Farty gets a starty at some point this weekend, I have to believe.

my problem with calling up Martinez is him riding the pine , if you commit to calling him up then play him every night, a start here and there seems pointless.

Re: Friday the 13th in Hu'ston IGT

Beltran missed making it a 2-run lead by an inch or two inside on the bat handle; that dub was struck with violence.

Other than that... Norris is working the big-ass strike-zone very nicely.

Very nice win - especially after things looked lifeless for about 6 innings there - and maybe the start to a nice weekend.
Tied the Nats for 4th and within 2 games of Atlanta.

The Fartinez HR was really the big moment even though Wright's was the eventual game-winner.

My KTE contributions called the Bay HR (the first of several this weekend) although Lee is still making unexpectedly good catches against us which I swore were a thing of the past.

Re: Friday the 13th in Hu'ston IGT

The Mets behind until the eighth, but managed to play a full game without Harris, Hairston, or Byrdak entering the field. Not to beat up on those guys, but it's sweet to get a whiff of some future.

I was kind of thinking that Martinez should've stayed in the game and replaced Beltran after he made the last out. It would have kept them from swapping catchers and given Beltran's knees a two-inning rest. But then I realized Martinez's legs are as precious to us as Beltran's. Besides, they could well have needed Beltran's bat one more time.

Re: Friday the 13th in Hu'ston IGT

Yeah I was about to resign myself to another stretch of the offense-less Mets. Hafta say, whoever posted that video of Fartinez going deep the other day, that swing was definitely on mind when he got up there to hit and so I believed it could happen.

Kudos too to Turner who scored 2 big runs and Misch, who must've got the win.

Re: Friday the 13th in Hu'ston IGT

Nothing like a little power surge to put things right. All three guys needed it, too.

I'd almost be surprised if the third base coach for the Astros still has his job tomorrow. That was embarrassing. And then he holds Wallace at third as the tying run with two out.

The Astros look need to change more than their owners, although that would be a good start. They look a little too comfortable losing.

Wallace was dead there in the 9th if he tried to go so it was the right call.
But that [crossout:3l0wr11o]1st[/crossout:3l0wr11o] 2nd inning decision was atrocious. No one out and you're sending Carlos Lee?@?@?!?!?!

Yeah that was me. I am not a fan of posts labeling him the world's oldest 22-year-old or such (you know who you is). He may never be Willie Mays or Carlos Beltran, but I think he still has a good chance to be Bobby Abreu. I'd take me a little John Milner. Or maybe Shin-Soo Choo with a designated driver.

I'm a fan.
