I was fearful of a rainout but looking at the revised forecast I agree that tonight will get played. Tomorrow's game is now in jeopardy per the forecast (1-2 inches of rain on Tuesday).

This is going to be one of those games tonight with like 4 people (including me) in the stands because of the rain isn't it?

That was his one good team.

Maybe Bay feels all Bucced up again, too. But he's as much Pirate as anybody in this lineup.

Never seen the shenanigans that the Mets are pulling here , Cohen actually said that the Mets might be trying to call this game for competitive reasons and that they probably can't play tomorrow either thus avoiding for now Johnson and Nalasco.......recap , about ten minuted before game time Alderson and Collins went to the Marlins manager and then to the infield and basically said no game as of now , no other info available.

Dunn was a Yankee prospect in 2009. He was traded to the Braves in the Javier Vazquez deal (snicker), and then traded to Florida with Infante for Uggla (he's the only one of three who's doing anything).

K-Rod only took one pitch to get my ulcers going.

Bay striking out with the runner on third and one out was what killed us, along with Igarashi's incompetence. He's a relief pitcher. You throw strikes (going down 2-0 to start the game was just terrible).

Re: 5/16/11 IGT - Marlins @ Mets

So glad I went all the way in and sat in the rain for this. A few thoughts:

* So many seemingly ill-advised decisions by Collins last night: Pinch-hitting Hu (yes, Harris sucks, but Hu is worse -- screw the L/R matchup), taking O'Connor (who was dealing) out, bunting Bay (HE'S YOUR EFFING CLEANUP HITTER), etc.
* If Wright wasn't available last night, then you needed someone there. You can't play short a roster spot. Looks like Bing and Buffalo were both far out of town last night (New Hampshire and Indianapolis, respectively), but still. And if Wright's there, shouldn't you hit him for Harris in the 9th? Or at least put him in the on-deck circle just for gamesmanship? Maybe?
* Huge section (20-25 guys) of dickhead Marlins fans started getting noisy and obnoxious in the left field corner last night. Got kicked out of the stadium in the middle of the ninth.

Argh.

Walking Chris Cuckold for Hanley Ramirez..nuts

Not using David to pinch hit? Prolly has to do with insurance.

Pridie? When you actually want a bunt he looks like a totally wanker.

Igarashi? Toodles.

Bright side? Beltran, Turner, Pelfrey, Bullpen other than Igarashi.

That. I knew there was something else that had me screaming at Terry from left field.

I get where the in-game urge strikes you... but in the cold, reflective light of morning, you're telling me you WANTED Terry Collins to use a stress-fractured David Wright last night?

Also... there are actual Marlins fans? Really?

Like I was saying

this guy is just terrible , 21 games and nearly 80 AB's and if he wasn't Jason Bay with a fat contract he'd be out of here.

Obviously I don't know how well he's moving right now, but yes, I probably would have. You don't need a triple in that spot; all you need to do is get the ball out of the infield. And between Harris lefty-lefty, an injured David Wright, and Chin-Lung Hu, I choose Wright.

And yes; startlingly many, actually. All over the place. lots of RAMIREZ 2s, but STANTON 27s and even JOHNSON 55s.

I've been getting pretty good at the Ben Grimm philosophy (happy with Met wins, shrug of the shoulders with Met losses).

But not last night.

Wow that sucked big hairy moose cock.

Argh.

We should probably be better about the "Going to the game thread"

Bay did prove he can bunt better than Pridie.

I'm sorry, Bay really fucking sucks moosecock.

Re: 5/16/11 IGT - Marlins @ Mets

I kinda wanted Reyes to bunt Neise home at the end. Much as the sacrifice is grossly overutilized, I fear the utility of the bunt single will die along with Luis Castillo's career.

I saw a ridiculous Delgado-type shift put on against LaRoche last night and swear he could have bunted a double. They were all but giving him the single.
