Bubba Bell to Buffalo

Mets acquire OF/1B Bubba Bell from the Injuns, assign him to Buffalo. Looks like Minor Lg vet with decent bat, little power.

Bubba Bell has almost as good a name as Boof Bonser. I don't know anything else about him, but I'm inclined to think I'd rather have him on the bench during Ike's absence than Fernando Martinez, only because I'd rather see Fernando get his playing time.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's the plan. But that wasn't an option yesterday. ;-) Martman probably starts today.

Had a combined 2007 of a sick 26 HR 105 RBI .337 OPS 1.001..then to dust. He kinda resembles Brad Emaus now..

Much of that looks like it came while playing high-A ball in the notoriously hitter-friendly California League. A promotion to AA and with it a trip back east and out of the high desert sure put a damper on things.

I liked it when he became Forrest's friend on the bus ride to basic training. He has large gums!
