It's a night game tonight. The Mets beat the Yankees. That gives us a full day to GLOAT. Everybody out there, wear your Mets gear today. Black or blue, orange dot or drop shadow, who the fuck cares. It's all GLORIOUS.

There's a cranky old bastard at my gym who always wears either a "Got Rings?" "Yankee universe" or "Ruth Gehrig Dimaggio Mantle" t-shirt. I rarely speak to him. Today he was wearing the "Got Rings?" shirt. So as I walked passed him I blurted out: "Got Turner?"

I've never seen the Got Rings shirt. I'd be tempted to approach the guy and say, yes, you've got rings.... ring around the collar! And then everyone else in the gym would start chanting "Ring around the collar! Ring around the collar!"

Particularly obnoxious variation: The post-2004 version in which 26 rings were put up against the (then) six the Red Sox had earned...because they don't just Got Rings, they Got Massive Insecurity.

Did you know that there is a St. Louis Cardinals version of the "Got Rings?" T-Shirt? In which the Cardinals' number of "rings" is compared to every other NL team? I too was flabbergasted the first time I was at Busch Stadium and saw that.

Thus, the slogan makes perfect sense.
