When the football club that formerly played at MFYS I signed a deal to move to Jersey, they were referred to in derisive fashion.

We sat together in period one, Fridays at 8:15. Now I see your face in the strangest places...

And if you ever get back, I'll be here for you.

Re: Hackensack

Sadly, when you do a Google search for "Hackensack lyrics" you get almost as many hits for Katy Perry as you do for Fountains of Wayne. That's just not right I tell ya.

If I only had a dollar, for ev'ry song I've sung.
And ev'ry time I've had to play
While people sat there drunk.
You know, I'd catch the next train back to where I live.
Oh ! Lord, I'm stuck in Lodi again.
(which is close to Hackensack)

I always assumed they were referring to the Lodi in California.

Songs that unquestionably have a reference to the general Hackensack area:

Freddy Cannon's Palisades Park

Also Bob Dylan's Hurricane, which I couldn't find on YouTube.

Cos Dylan's marketing acumen hasn't evolved since the 60's, which compels him to guard the copyright on his songs like they're the crown jewels.
