In Which the DirecTV Blimp Speaks to Me

There I was sitting in the Pepsi Porch Saturday night, minding my own business, watching the Mets play a fairly crisp game against the Phillies at Citi, when I felt it. The hair standing up on the back of my neck. The urge to look up.

I wouldn't put too much stock in what the Blimp said. Direct TV is owned by Rupert Murdoch so the information was probably slanted or false.

If the blimp was speaking drectly to him, I wonder if other people saw different messages.

I too have been heeding the words of the blimp. I find that the Mets can't hold my attention for more than a couple of innings. I'm still following the team closely, but I'm spending little time watching them.

I'm mulling not attending any home games from here on out. Just trying to do my bit, however small, to force the Wilpons out.

I think Josh Thole spent a night with a blimp.

The blimp lies. Stupid Yankee-loving blimp.

There was this guy down the row writing furiously and mumbling something about Moonlight Graham. He and his friend jumped up as if in a hurry to get somewhere. But then a drunken Met fan cold-cocked them both, convinced they were Philly fans. Or that they weren't showing enough respect for 'Lazy Mary'. Or something. I think they wound up being led away in handcuffs. The black guy looked familiar, though. Nynex commercials, maybe.
