iPad moron

OK, I just got an iPad and literally don't know what to do first. I turn it on and all that comes up on the screen is a graphic that shows a USB port with an arrow pointing to iTunes. I've plugged in the USB connector to my laptop, but nothing more seems to be happening. Do I have to sync it with itunes before it'll do anything else?

Did you slide to umlock it after pushing the power button?

Do you have iTunes installed on the laptop that you're using? I have an iPod Touch (work issued) that once froze up with that same graphic. I had to turn it in to the "experts" to get it unfrozen.

OK, that's the little button that shows red when it's slid one way, and white the other way. I'm guessing when red shows, it's locked, and when white shows, it's unlocked? In which case, it was unlocked.

I didn't do anything different, but all of a sudden it just started working. I can't explain why. But all is well. One more question. Suppose you want to play Pawn Stars on Facebook because your grandson is hooked on it, and you get a message saying you can't do it without Adobe Flash player, and then you get a second message saying there is no adobe flash player for iPad, what do you do next?

Welcome to Steve Jobs world.....Apple will never have Adobe Flash.....you can't view or play anything that needs Flash.
