Basically, things I've heard run the gamut from the fact that he abuses his staff with his ridiculous temper (including throwing large pieces of furniture), to asking if escorts will be at a party, to being spotted at random Metro stations at 5 AM sitting in his car.

On a more serious note, this: Reporters who would never dare challenge powerful political figures who torture, illegally eavesdrop, wage illegal wars or feed at the trough of sleazy legalized bribery suddenly walk upright -- like proud peacocks with their feathers extended -- pretending to be hard-core adversarial journalists as they collectively kick a sexually humiliated figure stripped of all importance. The ritual is as nauseating as it is predictable.

Well, the torture, eavesdropping, and wars --- legal and illegal in all three cases --- are all pretty publickly known. I'd rather take the courts and the electorate to task on that one. I think journalists have done fine work exposing them, but what does it matter if the authorities who would stop them shrug?

He does, though, lean on the moral indignation/righteousness thing pretty heavily in his work, both publicly and behind closed doors. There's no real hypocrisy here... but after he went out for 3-4 days and actively, convincingly lied about it, there's a bit more than a bit of a credibility problem.
