All bow before the flaming bat of Nick Evans.

He deserves another chance.
|
metirish Jun 30 2011 10:37 AM Re: Nick the Sick |
Great for him but what's the point of it all when he gets called up he gets ten at bats to show himself , gets stuck to the bench and sent back down?

frequent flier miles? A day out in NYC? Basking in Jose Reyes' greatness?

Edgy DC Jun 30 2011 10:40 AM Re: Nick the Sick |
He'll get another chance. We can be certain.

Those are nice uniforms.

seems like he needs to be playing every day if he's going to get another chance.
|
Edgy DC Jun 30 2011 11:45 AM Re: Nick the Sick |
You can say that about almost anybody. He's earned another chance, but he'll have to keep earning his at bats once he arrives. He's long past the most-valuable-prospect stage.
|
attgig Jun 30 2011 12:15 PM Re: Nick the Sick |
I'd rather he stay in AAA and rake vs coming up to flushing and sitting on the bench, and not hit...and have to clear through waivers again...
|
Edgy DC Jun 30 2011 12:20 PM Re: Nick the Sick |
Of course, but that doesn't mean he'll play every day.
|
metirish Jun 30 2011 12:22 PM Re: Nick the Sick |
I fear his glumness would be the undoing of him.
|
Benjamin Grimm Jun 30 2011 12:22 PM Re: Nick the Sick |
Yeah, someone may get hurt, but we also have someone (hopefully) coming back in a few weeks to reclaim third base.

yeah. with the roster the way it is, and possibilities of trades... a lot can happen. the way we're playing, i don't know if we'd even see beltran traded away. if he does though, it seems like duda would go to RF so we'd have room for murph on 1st, and put turner or tejada in 2b.

Nick Evans has come for your women and chattle, triple-slashing to the tune of .323 / .373 / .477 // .851.

Yep, he did. 30 games in 2009.

Most worthless Met of all time. FU, Tim Redding.

He was wearing a Met uniform but he wan't playing for them. Now stop undeleting my memories.

I like it. Give him Pridie's roster spot.

No, that's a picture of me in a Mets uniform. edit: No, that's Tim Redding. My bad.

I'll take glum Nick over Pridie also.
|
Edgy DC Jul 07 2011 01:13 PM Re: Nick the Sick |
The Sickenator goes 3-5 in his last game with Buffalo, flying out of town with a gaudy slash line of .329 / .378 / .480 // .858.
|
Ceetar Jul 07 2011 01:15 PM Re: Nick the Sick |
Evans is just in town to see the LaBrea Tar Pits
|
Vic Sage Jul 07 2011 01:48 PM Re: Nick the Sick |
i think Evans/Duda should be in a strict platoon at 1b until Wright comes back, at which point Duda goes down and Murphy plays 1b (with Evans against some [not all] LHPs). If and when Davis comes back, Murphy/Turner can platoon at 2b, with Tejada going down (or playing SS if Jose goes bye bye). If Beltran gets traded, I'd prefer a Duda/Evans platoon in RF, or F-Mart (if healthy) full time.

the last couple of times he hasn't been so rip-roaringly hot when he got the call. Maybe this time is the time, helps them win some games.
|
Edgy DC Jul 07 2011 02:00 PM Re: Nick the Sick |
It's not like he's had less success than Duda.
|
Ceetar Jul 07 2011 02:02 PM Re: Nick the Sick |
|
Well what Duda has done is pretty irrelevant to what Evans will do. They're not the same person.
|
Lefty Specialist Jul 07 2011 02:30 PM Re: Nick the Sick |
A chance to extend his 0-for-2011. Although his walks bring his OPS up to .294.
|
Edgy DC Jul 07 2011 02:54 PM Re: Nick the Sick |
||
I'm not confused on that point. I meant to suggest that he deserves at least as much room to fail in his quest to succeed as Duda has enjoyed, or perhaps merely at least as much as Duda gets going forward.
|
Ceetar Jul 07 2011 02:56 PM Re: Nick the Sick |
|||
Yeah. that's what I meant. I thought you were inferring to how successful Duda was in AAA before his callup. regardless, someone said Evans is in the lineup tonight.
|
attgig Jul 07 2011 03:55 PM Re: Nick the Sick |
evans playing 1b.
