He gave up one run in the first inning: error, SB, groundout, wild pitch.
1 walk and 8 Ks through 8 innings.

It's always a good think when Johan Santana no-hits someone. Hopefully our version can do this next year.

And he did it!!

You know it's a bad day for Cleveland when you commit five more errors than hits.

Mariners put up a 4-spot in the 7th and lead the Yanx 6-1
They might even have an outside chance of winning this one!

King Felix owns the Yanks, which is part of the reason Yankee fans drool over him. It's the Steinbrenner-era fan, becuse he was noitorious for coveting those that beat him.

"It's an injustice that Hernandez beat Sabathia for the Cy Young Award when he doesn't even know how to win!"

"We've got to get Felix Hernandez!"

How do you sustain thse two thoughts?

Nevermind get paid for it on sports radio during prime time.

Translation: Felix is one of the best pitchers in baseball which means that Yanqui fans believe that makes them entitled to him for the likes of Kei Igawa (yes, he's still pitching for the Yanx in the minors) plus some other low level non-entity.

And the Braves and Pirates ... are going to extras.

The Braves should just forfeit humbly.

How many innings before Hanrahan pitches? Let's start a pool. I say he doesn't enter the game until the 12th.

And I just saw a replay of the 1st inning error in the LAA-Cleve game today ... could easily have been scored a hit.
Obviously since it was so early (first batter of bottom 1) there was no chicanery to make it an error, but it turned out to be one of just two base-runners (a later inning walk) in Santana's no-hitter.

Braves win legitimately tonight, and in a mere 10 innings.

Re: July 27, O-o-T-S

Nah, you gotta walk the bases loaded there to get the possible force play w/1 out and hope for the GiDP.

The now last-place Nats lose another one to Florida.
Were down 7-1 heading into the 9th, then scored 4 runs before the tying run flew out to the fence w/1 on to end the game 7-5.

Re: July 27, O-o-T-S

We need to catch the Pirates now and punish them for not using Hanrahan in either game. I know it seems cruel after 20 years of them losing, but you're got to look at the big picture.
